Official Minutes of the May 31, 2018 Special Called Council Meeting

(This meeting was held at 6:00pm)

Approved by City Council at the June 21, 2018 Council Meeting

 

The Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Rozier with Recreation Directory George Foley giving the Invocation. Councilmembers Griffin, Grizzard, Key, City Administrator Akridge and City Clerk Diane Proudfoot were present.

 

Councilwoman Griffin made a motion to approve the agenda of the May 31, 2018 council meeting with the addition of Item # 2 Consider installing No Parking signs at Walnut and Poplar Streets and Item #3 Executive Session for Personnel. Councilman Grizzard seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

1. Recognition of the Bloomingdale Recreation Department Bears First Place Teams. Recreation Director Foley and Mayor Rozier presented trophies and certificates to the following Bloomingdale teams: The U14 Girls who were undefeated; the U10 Girls were also undefeated; the U13 Soccer was undefeated and the U8 Soccer team had 1 loss for the season. Councilwoman Griffin congratulated all teams and thanked everyone for attending and thanked all coaches, volunteers and a special note of thanks was extended to the parents for making sure their children were at practices and games.

 

2. Consider installing "No Parking" signs at Walnut and Poplar Streets. Councilwoman Griffin made a motion to approve the installation of No Parking signs on Walnut and Poplar Streets. Councilman Grizzard seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

 

3. Consider adjourning into Executive Session to discuss Personnel. Councilwoman Griffin made a motion to adjourn into executive session to discuss Personnel. Councilman Grizzard seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

After the Executive Session to discuss Personnel, Councilman Grizzard made a motion to return to General Session. Councilwoman Key seconded the motion and it passed without opposition. Councilwoman Griffin made a motion to execute the execute the affidavit pursuant to the Open Records Act and Georgia State Law. Councilwoman Key seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.

 

There being no further business, Councilman Grizzard made a motion to adjourn at 7:15pm. Councilwoman Griffin seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.
